This Eastside Costa Mesa project focused on updating key areas of the home through custom cabinetry and millwork. Silverado Woodshop designed and built a custom entertaining bar complete with integrated refrigeration, wine storage, and tailored storage solutions, creating a dedicated space for gathering with family and friends.
Beyond the bar, the project included custom built-in seating surrounding the fireplace and a complete kitchen cabinet reface featuring new doors, drawer fronts, and panel-ready appliance integrations. Together, these updates helped modernize the home while preserving its original character, creating spaces that feel both functional and timeless.
Materials
This project was built using plain sawn white oak throughout the custom bar and fireplace bench seating, creating a consistent look across each piece. The white oak was laid out with a horizontal grain pattern that wraps across doors, drawer fronts, and end panels to emphasize the long, clean lines of the design.
Cabinet interiors were constructed from pre-finished maple for durability and a clean interior finish, while the drawer boxes were built from solid red oak. Soft-close hinges and drawer glides were used throughout to provide smooth, quiet operation.
To highlight the display area, recessed LED lighting was integrated into the underside of the floating shelves, adding both functional task lighting and subtle ambient illumination. The combination of natural white oak, clean detailing, and integrated lighting creates a warm and modern space designed for both everyday use and entertaining.
