Balboa Peninsula Closet Rebuild
Newport Beach, CA
This project wasn't about reinventing the space—it was about restoring it the right way.
Following water damage to part of the closet, we rebuilt the affected cabinetry using rift white oak and pre-finished maple interiors while carefully matching the portions of the closet that remained. We also integrated a concealed push-to-open utility door, allowing access to the furnace without sacrificing the clean look of the cabinetry.
While the goal was for the new work to disappear into the existing design, projects like this showcase the attention to detail required to make custom cabinetry feel truly seamless.
Materials
To match the existing closet, we used rift white oak for all visible exterior components, providing the clean, linear grain pattern that defines the space. Cabinet interiors were built using pre-finished maple, offering a durable, low-maintenance finish while keeping the interior bright and functional.
All doors and drawers are equipped with premium soft-close hinges and drawer glides for smooth, quiet operation. Because the project included a high-end safe installation, the cabinetry was reinforced during construction to properly support the additional weight and ensure long-term performance.
